This GVSU study abroad program gives students an insider’s look at China, a country with 5,000 years of civilization, 1/5 of the entire human population, the world’s second largest economy, and perceived as an emerging rival to the U.S. Students will spend 6 weeks in the early summer living in Shanghai, a city that radiates elegance and vitality, and travel to Beijing, the capital of China, and to Tibet, the “roof of the world.” Courses are taught in English.
Field trips include Beijing, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and Tibet.
This program fulfills credits in Philosophy, Sociology, Women Gender & Sexuality Studies, or General Education requirements (ex. Global Perspectives and Issues); making it a great fit for any major!
